Good-Bye November...

Where is the end of this year going? I feel like I am running at full speed and getting NO where! (Picture the old Bugs Bunny cartoons: legs spinning as fast as they can, but the poor little character is not moving!) I will have to quickly update you on our November happenings, so that I can start sharing all of our December fun. My Jakey- loves food!

We had a nice Thanksgiving with the Ward clan. Lots of cousins, food, and fun! Ezra was so worn out we had the pleasure of lots-o-tears by the end. SUPER fun!

Updates...well, one anyway!

Jakey has a new fake laugh! He sounds like Patrick and has a big space in his teeth like Spongebob! Silly baby. I will do more updates when I have some time this week. G'night!

The End of October

Welp...it's over. I can't believe how quickly it went! Seems like I was just worrying about what to do for Ezra's birthday, and now suddenly we are onto November. So, here is how our October ended: Ezra recieved so many kind, wonderful gifts for his birthday. This one was from Grandma, who was kind enough to let him decidce on his own gift. Funny choice in my opinion, but he loved it!

Grandpa Sorensen has started the tradition of doing something special with each grandkid for their birthday. Ezra got to ride in his truck, and go get macaroni and cheese fries! He was pretty excited. Here he is waiting for grandpa to come.

And they are off...

Grandpa Ward gave us 2 of his huge pumpkins from his garden this year for the boys for Halloween. Daddy and Ezra had a good time carving them. I read up on cooking the seeds, and had I followed the recipe i think they would have been pretty good. However....I just dumped in the salt instead of measuring and they were way too salty! Better luck next time.

For Halloween, we attended 2 trunk-or-treats and did our own trick-or-treat on Monday night. We were so worn out from the weekend that we literally only went up one street with Ezra on Monday. He was "treated" very well though, and has quite the stash. Here are our cute kiddos (and one of us):

As of late, I have needed to return to work for more hours. Darrell and I have been working opposite schedules, sort of, so we can take care of the kids. I take the boys with me in the morning to teach pre-school. Then I come home and do lunches and naps and whatever house work I can before Darrell gets home to take over. Then I go back to work for another 3 hour shift. This puts me home sort of late, so Darrell has had to really be Mr. Mom. Some days he totally has to make dinner. (Like really make something from a recipe!) He was so proud of himself (as he should be, because I am actually quite impressed myself!) that he took pictures! He had to get pretty creative with Jakey and his bottle too!

AND FINALLY...my little boy is really growing up. He got a hold of the Toys R Us catalog on Sunday and started circling all the things he wanted for Christmas. Ugh. Hpefully we can get him SOMETHING he circled.

I can't get enough of my quickly-growing baby boy! He isn't feeling so great right now, so I am feeling especially tender towards him. Funny how that happens. Also funny how much better my cute little bundle sleeps in OUR bed. So sweet. Wrapped up in all of our big sheets and blankets. Could it get any better?

My Big Guy

I can't even hardly think about it. He is three! Seems like just yesterday I was jumping on Darrell to wake him up and tell him that I was pregnant! The lo-o-o-ng, swollen summer before he arrived. The anticipation of his arrival a week LATE! And finally the strange (I thought) labor and delivery that I thought would never end. His first everything...sitting, crawling, walking, birthday, swimming, holidays, and on and on. Then he secretly turned two on me. Where did that year go? Now...he is three. Mr. Independant! Mr. Grown-Up! He showers by himself (even shaves before and applies deodorant after). He administers his own allergy nasal spray. He has chores (helping with dinner once a week and empying the garbage from his room and his brother's for garbage day). He knows the words to millions of cool songs (most recently he sings Stick Shifts and Safety Belts by Cake). He knows lots of letters (which he calls numbers). He loves going to the doctor. He has been running from Sacrament Meeting (with folded arms) to nursery for a long time, with no parental supervision. He has been potty trained for so long, I can't really remember when it happened and it was all his doing! He LOVES visitors, and is devastated when they leave. He often lovingly refers to Darrell or me as "honey", and the other day answered my question with a "yeah babey!" He thinks all children are his cousins. He tells some whopper stories! (Watch out for those...) He has to do everything ALL ON HIS OWN, but is absolutely crushed and angered if he can't make it happen. He has an amazing memory and often reminds me of things that he should not be able to remember. I am daily amazed by his sweet spirit, and also exhausted by trying to teach, discipline, and love it! I am so blessed. I often wonder why me? Not just "why do I have such a spirited child?" BUT "why was I blessed with such an amazing little spirit?" I love my Bubby. Happy Birthday big guy! Been trying to blog for a week now!

I'VE SAID IT BEFORE...Time does fly, doesn't it? Well...I suppose I will give you as quick of an update as I can. Keep your fingers crossed that Jakey doesn't wake up, and Ezra's "quiet time" music lasts!

Ezra has started taking his turn once a week making dinner. (Well..."helping" anyway) His first dinner was english muffin pizzas. They were pretty tastey!
Jakey and Ezra are starting to interact more and more. If I can just convince Ezra that the baby is still a baby and doesn't like things like being growled at all of a sudden...
Aunt molly came over and watched the boys for us one night so we could go on a real date! It was so nice. I snapped a funny pic of Ezra and his cousin Hailey before we left.
We went to a air show in Mountain Home with Darrell's brother and sis-in-law. I think next time I will remember ear plugs for all. The planes were neat, but scared the boys pretty good more than once! Darrell had fun, though I think he would have enjoyed it more without us!

My nephew was baptized this month and I took on a craft I saw on Pinterest. It wasn't too difficult. If I do it again, though, I will use a less fluffy towel. My sewing machine couldn't hack it!
We sure love it when our big kids are here. The boys can't get enough of them, and I appreciate the help! It's nice to have the whole family together!

He is starting to sit up too. This was his first time and I was sitting close, but usually put pillows all around him to avoid any major spills!

AND Finally...Our preschool took a field trip to the pumpkin patch. It was a pretty good time, though we could have done without the rain. The tempurature was nice though!
